Referral Biography
Steve Smith currently works part time for Sandstone Psychology in Payson Utah. He worked full time at Counseling and Psychological Services at BYU from 1992 to 2022 and was director from 2011 to 2021. Prior to joining Sandstone, he maintained a small private practice for 34 years. Steve received his bachelor’s degree in Special Education and his master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from BYU. He received his doctorate in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Prior to coming to BYU, Steve worked in counseling centers at the University of Minnesota and University of Utah. In addition to counseling and therapy, he served as an adjunct faculty member in the BYU Counseling Psychology Doctoral program for 12 years.
