Referral Biography
Dr. Nichols is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist in Utah and New York. Dr. Nichols completed his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Louisville where he emphasized forensic, ADHD, Learning Disability, and personality assessments. After finishing his doctoral work, Dr. Nichols migrated to New York City where he completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Advanced Rehabilitation Research and Clinical Neuropsychology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. While at Mt. Sinai Dr. Nichols received training and supervision from some of the most respected rehabilitation neuropsychologists in the country at the Brain Injury Research Center of Mount Sinai (BIRC-MS). At the BIRC-MS, Dr. Nichols assisted in the implementation of federally funded research protocols focusing on secondary and tertiary prevention, neuropsychological and functional assessments, and clinical rehabilitation interventions for persons who have experienced traumatic brain injuries.
Excluding time spent completing doctoral work and specialized training in Louisville and New York City, Dr. Nichols has resided in the Park City, Utah, area since 1992. He was employed as the Director of Experiential Education at the Oakley School for almost ten years. He remains an active rock-climber and backcountry skier (always with a helmet!) when not enjoying time with his wife and two children.
